Thanks to all volunteers and competitors for last night’s second Marronthon 6 Hour! 66 riders all up is a great turn-out for a local event, and testimony to the interest in Mountain Biking in Albany at the moment.

The sandy section through the dam soon went to hell, but the final section of the track was great fun, especially in the dark.
Best wishes to Steve Sweeney who took an epic trip over the bars on one of the optional jumps.

Congratulations to John Toomey for an epic 28 laps, beating most teams on the final lap count!

Congratulations also to the two fastest teams, on 30 laps each, M&M and Young Guys. Young Guys just missed out on the 31st lap, with Dan Lee having a crack at one more with only 10 minutes remaining! M&M stayed ahead for much of the night, with only 2 riders compared to the Young Guy’s 3.

Shout out also to Adam Pugh, winner of the inaugural wooden spoon, with an great effort of 9 laps solo!

Finally, thanks to all our sponsors, Impulse Cycles for the kid’s prizes, Passmore Cycles for an awesome new helmet for our first place solo rider, Bobs Bikes for a big pile of merch for other competitors, and The Old Marron Farm – Albany for once again hosting us and keeping us all fed.

Massive thanks also to Michael Ball and Great Southern Motorcycles for lending us this Polaris for the day! It meant we had first aid vehicle ready, and made the track setup and clean-up a hell of a lot easier!
