The Albany MTB club is pleased to present the legendary Poikeclerup site! Poikies was spoken about in hushed conversations for many years but now it’s back by popular demand!! This true grit trail has had a facelift for an even bigger better experience this June long weekend. Come and enjoy the venue as a competitor or spectator as we continue to work with the City of Albany to do amazing things at Pokies.

  • Where: HQ set up at trail hub on Poikeclerup Road, Nanarup.

Marshall Briefing 8am
Practice will be open from 9am -11:00am
Seeding/Racing approx. 11.30am – 4pm

Conditions:

All Riders must sign on before practicing the course. Rider must have completed one full practice run by the end of practice. Only designated officials and riders wearing appropriate gear and helmet, will be allowed onto the course during official practice sessions.

Protective equipment requirements:
Australian Standard approved or equivalent Full Face Helmets are mandatory
Elbow Pads or Long sleeve jerseys
Knee pads if wearing shorts
Gloves
Body armour is highly recommended
Bike must be functional with working brakes
Handle bars must have Bar ends or Plugs 


Parking: All participants and spectators are required to follow all directions of event marshalls w/regard to parking and track access. Parking is available in the lower section for all vehicles, additional parking for 4WD is accessible in the upper level (turn right after gate entry). Please keep the roadway clear for Emergency Vehicles, and drive slowly and courteously, as it is narrow in places.
While this is a reasonably remote bush location, camping is NOT permitted and WILL be enforced by the City of Albany. Two Peoples Bay Caravan Park is quite close, and offers reasonable tent sites and hot showers, and is only a couple of Ks down down the road. Kalgan River Caravan Park is also not far away, and there are numerous chalets and Air BnBs in the surrounding area. 

Food: BBQ cook up will be available starting with Bacon & Egg Brekkie sanga and Sausage Sizzle. Drinks and Coffee will also be available.
This is an alcohol and smoke free event.


Volunteers:
As usual we need awesome volunteers to run our events. This round will require 8 track marshals.
If you have some supporters coming along, want to get up-close to the racing, or just aren’t in the mood for riding this round, please contact us prior to the day.
As an added incentive (to just that warm fuzzy feeling for helping out !), volunteers that register to marshals for both days will receive 100% Free Entry and a 50% discount if you can help for one day.
Please let us know if you are bringing a volunteer via the rego process.
Spectators are welcome.

SATURDAY NIGHT PUMP JAM

About

Albany Mountain Bike Club is proud to present the June Pump Track race at the Albany Youth Challenge Park. Riders of all ages and on bikes of all wheel sizes are welcome to come and try this new racing format. 

  • Where: HQ set up at Club Sea Container Albany Youth Challenge Park 
  • When: Saturday 4th June
  • Sign in Desk Open : 1700-1730
  • Timed Practice : 1700-1800
  • Race Start (all categories) : 1800 
  • Presentations : 1900

PUMP TRACK RACE Riders will be timed over an anticlockwise outside loop of the Pump Track. You may attempt as many timed practices as you want between 5:00pm and 6:00pm. Qualifying will occur between 6.00-6.30pm with riders having only one qualifying attempt. Finals will occur between 6.30-7.00pm. The top 4 riders in each division will be seeded in elimination finals between 6.30-7.00pm. The fastest qualifier vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd. The winner in each head to head semi (riders racing individually) will progress to the final. In divisions with 3 competitors all competitors will ride in an elimination semi final. Divisions with 2 or less competitors will be a straight final.

Registration and timing chip collection from 5pm. Timing chips must be returned at the end of the event or competitors risk replacement cost of $120.

Who:

Open to anyone age 6 or over! Junior riders 15 and over should pick a grade appropriate to their skill level, but don’t be afraid to challenge yourself !
Don’t know which grade to choose? ELITE is like A Grade, EXPERT is like B Grade and MASTERS is for 40+
We do not discriminate against any wheel size. BMX welcome!

Spectators are also welcome.
